WELDER - 3RD SHIFT - JACKSONVILLE,FL
Purpose of Position
The Third Shift Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding, fabrication, and repair tasks on metal components and structures during the night shift.
Essential Functions:
- Reading and understanding schematics.
- Measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
- Welding materials using the correct material to join the metals together.
- Maintain and repair all machinery.
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
- Completing welding tasks with precision and attention to detail.
- Meeting production quotas while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment or metal components.
- Collaborating with other shift workers to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
- Maintaining and repairing welding equipment and tools.
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Adhere to established safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.

Education/Experience/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED. Certificate in welding is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience as a welder
- Must be or be able to become forklift certified
Physcial/Mental/Environmental:
Physical Demands:
Activities: Sitting – 10% Walking/Standing – 90%
Lifting: Frequently lift up to 50lbs.
Bending: Must be able to bend, squat, crawl and climb.
Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.
Mental Demands: Research, interpret, analyze and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Environment: Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
