SR. SOFTWARE DEVELOPER - US FLEXIBLE
Purpose of Position

The Sr. Software Developer will be instrumental in advancing and fine-tuning our Infor SyteLine versions 9.00.30 and 10.x. enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. In this vital role within our dynamic team, you'll engage with every phase of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), focusing on advancing and broadening the functionality of IEM's Infor SyteLine implementation. This position goes beyond mere system maintenance—it's about creating innovative solutions and new features, predominantly through SQL-based customizations in Infor SyteLine. Essential Functions: 

  • Engage fully in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance of systems.
  • Actively gather, analyze, and document technical business requirements to drive the development and enhancement of new and existing software functionalities.
  • Develop and refine enhancements, add-ons, and reports specifically for Infor SyteLine versions 9.00.30 and v10.x.
  • Maintain, support, and upgrade systems and applications, ensuring reliable performance and implementing necessary fixes.
  • Collaborate with team members to conceptualize, design, and implement project solutions effectively.
  • Conduct thorough testing of modifications and meticulously document programming activities and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional support and assistance to end-users, enhancing user satisfaction and system usability.
  • Design and document code conversions comprehensively, ensuring clarity and maintainability of code.
  • Work closely with technical colleagues to produce high-quality code in VB.NET and C#, adhering to best practices in software development.
  • Design, develop, and update business reports using SQL, SSRS, and Infor Reporting tools.
  • Offer technical support and training to peers, enhancing team knowledge and capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption during system conversions.
  • Utilize the Microsoft 365 suite proficiently (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) to support business processes and team collaboration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Required Expertise:
    • Demonstrated expertise with Infor SyteLine, with a minimum of five years of experience supporting end-users on Infor SyteLine based solutions.
    • Experience with upgrades from previous versions of Infor SyteLine to Infor SyteLine v10.x
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Desired Technical Skills:
    • Strong in SQL, including stored procedures, views, triggers, and database management using MS T-SQL.
    • Knowledgeable with MS.NET Framework, Visual Studio and C#.
    • Ability to design and implement databases and SQL based software solutions.
    • Experience with version control platforms such as GitHub or SVN.
    • Experience with complex multi-site and multi-currency configurations.
    • Experience with MRP, APS and Scheduling is a plus.
    • Familiarity with Lake Companies Doc-Trak, Nutech Viewpoint, and Seagull Scientific Bartender is a plus.
  • General Competencies:
    • Basic understanding of manufacturing and accounting principles.
    • Ability to meticulously test, document, and write code changes and modifications with the end-user in mind.
    • Experience with helpdesk and ticketing systems is desirable.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of gathering technical requirements and translating technical details into clear, user-friendly instructions for end-users.
    • Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Work Authorization and Job Location:
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
    • The position is fully remote with minimal travel required to IEM facilities or conferences.
