SR. BUSINESS APPLICATION ANALYST - US FLEXIBLE
Purpose of Position

The Sr. Business Application Analyst will be instrumental in advancing and fine-tuning our Infor SyteLine versions 9.00.30 and 10.x. enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. In this vital role, you will explore and enhance both the front-end and technical aspects of our application, striving to extend the functionality of IEM’s Infor SyteLine environment. This position goes beyond mere support and system maintenance—it's about pioneering and creating new features through collaborative efforts with Infor SyteLine end-users, technical experts, and software developers. You'll engage with a diverse range of technologies, acquiring unique skills and experiences. Additionally, you will join a nurturing team environment where seasoned experts are dedicated to aiding your growth in technical proficiency through ongoing learning and mentorship.

 

Essential Functions: 

End-User Training and Support:

  • Conduct targeted application training sessions to elevate end-user competence and familiarity with the ERP. 
  • Provide exemplary end-user assistance, troubleshooting application or technical issues, and ensuring effective solutions and support continuity.

System Administration and Customization:

  • Administer the ERP application to ensure all end-users have correctly configured and secure accounts.
  • Collaborate with end-users to customize and enhance the ERP system for optimal business process development and performance.

Project Collaboration and SDLC Participation:

  • Engage in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with in-house software developers, including design, coding review, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Work closely with end-users, executives, and staff to improve ERP data quality and system efficiency.

Business Process Analysis and Documentation:

  • Analyze and document business workflows and identify process issues to propose improvements.
  • Manage the transformation and uploading of data, ensuring seamless integration and data flow between the ERP and other business systems.

Technical Development and Problem Solving:

  • Gather and document technical business requirements for software development and system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, system documentation, end-user guides, and training materials.

Reporting and Data Management:

  • Assist in creating, enhancing, and maintaining business reports using SQL, SSRS, Data Views, and Infor Reporting.
  • Analyze existing business processes and system configurations to identify areas for optimization and automation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement:

  • Build and maintain trust with end-users and management through continuous demonstration of professionalism and expertise.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and implement changes, driving continuous improvement in business processes and system capabilities.

Strategic Initiatives and Liaison Activities:

  • Develop and deliver a long-term strategic plan supporting the overall business’s strategic ERP initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between business personnel and technical resources, facilitating effective communication and solution development within the ERP environment.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

  • Support and train other team members.
  • Ensure that all related business processes, tasks, and procedures are tested and well-documented.
  • Manage testing, troubleshooting, and validation of system functionality to ensure smooth upgrades. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience: 

Required Expertise:

  • Demonstrated expertise with Infor SyteLine, with a minimum of five years of experience supporting end-users on Infor SyteLine based solutions.
  • Experience with upgrades from previous versions of Infor SyteLine to Infor SyteLine v10.x
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience strongly preferred.

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL, including stored procedures, views, triggers, and database management using MS T-SQL.
  • Experience with complex multi-site and multi-currency configurations.
  • Experience with MRP, APS and Scheduling is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lake Companies Doc-Trak, Nutech Viewpoint, and Seagull Scientific Bartender is a plus.

General Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and accounting principles.
  • Ability to meticulously test, document, and convey code changes and modifications with the end-user in mind.
  • Experience with helpdesk and ticketing systems is desirable.

Communication and Analytical Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical requirements to software developers and translating technical details into clear, user-friendly instructions for end-users.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to meet deadlines consistently.

Work Authorization and Job Location:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • The position is fully remote with minimal travel required to IEM facilities or conferences.
