PRE-FAB/PAINT QUALITY CONTROL LEAD - JACKSONVILLE,FL
Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for executing the standard of quality priority across prefab and paint teams, ensuring quality corrective/preventative actions are carried out, monitoring and communicating any risks associated with the overall standard conformance of the products.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure prefab/paint inspection team is upholding the quality expectations and standards per UL, ISO 9001, and IEM.
  • Ownership of corrective or preventative actions with respect to quality and correcting root causes within the prefab and paint areas.
  • Optimize overall efficiency by monitoring productivity and quality.
  • Identifying and resolving quality issues in a timely manner.  Coordinate with Fabrication Floor Lead, Engineering, Project Management, Materials or any other department as applicable.
  • Train and mentor Leads/Team coordinators/inspectors to ensure the quality staff is performing standard quality work and routinely inspect all areas for first-time quality work.
  • Assist QC/Test Supervisor with gathering details associated with quality issues and determining root cause to prevent recurrence.
  • Communicate consumable and material needs and shortages to QC/Test Supervisor, Production supervisor, and Material Manager before it affects production.  
  • Manage workforce in line with policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies on attendance, performance, and conduct.
  • Enforce proper escalation procedures to effectively and efficiently resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties which may be required by QC/Test Supervisor.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical Degree (BS) or Business Degree (BA) preferred or at least 5 years’ experience in associated manufacturing field.
  • At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience with production, engineering, warehouse and quality functions in a manufacturing/plant environment with emphasis on electrical assembly.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, spoken and written is preferred

Mental Demands:            Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environment:                  Climate controlled office and Shop/warehouse, which is not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
