LV PRODUCT MANAGER - JACKSONVILLE,FL
The LV Product Manager position is responsible for building, developing, and managing a team of Product Engineers focused on full Product Lifecycle Management of Low Voltage Power Distribution equipment. This position is intended to support multiple IEM manufacturing facilities.
The LV Product Manager position with include but not be limited to the following functions:
- Accountable to build a department that has primary point of contacts (POCs) and subject matter experts (SMEs) for all Low Voltage Power Distribution products.
- Actively grow the team by hiring and onboarding new staff while also providing upskilling, training, and guidance for existing personnel.
- Collaborate with other IEM departments including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, etc. to ensure Product Engineering activities are aligned with the overall IEM strategy
- Provide direction for team alignment on product strategy for the determination of low voltage product offers.
- Align Product Engineering resources’ capacity with prioritized assignments.
- Ensure collaboration of Product Engineering team with venders for product maintenance activities including product obsolescence, redesign, etc. Coordinate action plans with internal teams based to support product maintenance activities.
- Advance Product Lifecycle Management processes and tools to be supported by the Product Engineering teams.
- Ensure Industrialization and Commercialization of new product introductions including engagement with the NPI team and any processes or tools supporting Sales/Estimating, ERP Systems, and Operational Readiness.
- Routinely check in with staff to ensure they take responsibility for their work to meet IEM standards within the timelines requested and proactively communicate to relevant stakeholders any delays or obstacles.
- Track, analyze, and report data & statistics regarding the efficacy of staff skills and department systems to drive continuous improvement.
Competencies:
- Competency with low voltage switchgear products design and manufacturing, including knowledge of industry standards like UL 67, 891, 1558, 1008 and ANSI C37.20 and NEC/CEC.
- Ability to be flexible with multi-tasking and changing priorities.
- Ability to collaborate and work through ambiguity
- Demonstrated success collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 4-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related science field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the power distribution equipment or close-related industry, preferably directly with switchgear.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisor role directly managing staff.
