LEAD FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - US FLEXIBLE
Purpose of Position

This position serves as the subject matter expert on IEM’s custom repeatable integrated products from the field service perspective. They’re the main and first point of contact for supporting and training internal technicians as well as leading communication with commercial and production teams within IEM. Responsible for directly troubleshooting, commissioning, collecting data and performing maintenance on integrated products.

Essential Functions:

  • Support field service technicians tasked with commissioning and troubleshooting of Integrated Products.
  • Follows a scientific step-by-step process to troubleshooting equipment issues. Captures data and troubleshooting steps concisely and accurately to facilitate effective communication to internal and external parties.
  • Works directly with 3rd party equipment vendors to help resolve re-occurring issues with vendor equipment within IEM’s integrated products.
  • Communicate with Product Engineering Team with regards to important product bulletins that would affect service, software upgrades, product upgrades or maintenance factors.
  • Travel to customer sites to lead commissioning activities with junior techs/engineers or complete commissioning independently.
  • Provide automation/networking support and training to field service engineers and technicians
  • As required, travel to manufacturing or field service offices of IEM to participate in or lead training exercises, and to participate in factory witness/shop testing.
  • Assists with project start-up and resolving punch list items found at the jobsite.  Works with leads and site superintendents to update punch lists and ensure jobs are closed out.
  • Reports back issues to manufacturing facilities regarding whether quality control standards are upheld to project design criteria and product specifications.  Works with production, service and engineering teams to help resolve any deficiencies that are found.
  • Work with the Field Service Leads in scheduling additional field resources and/or teams to cover service needs.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

Competencies:

  • Four-year college degree in Engineering and/or related field experience
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and ensure follow-up on multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and customer presence is a must.
  • Travel is required.

Salary Range:

$40-$60/hour (DOE and job location)
