EHS SR. MANAGER - JACKSONVILLE,FL/ US FLEXIBLE
Purpose of Position
The EHS Senior Manager will be responsible for leading global EHS initiatives, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position will manage EHS policies, programs, and procedures, and support environmental, health, and safety-related projects across multiple regions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of global EHS policies, standards, programs, and procedures.
- Provide regulatory knowledge, technical expertise, EHS engineering knowledge, best practices, and EHS management systems to ensure compliance with global and EHS legal requirements (i.e.: Regulations, Codes, Standards, Directives, and Administrative Policies).
- Manage complex projects related to environmental, health, and safety, ensuring compliance assurance and adherence to company goals and regulations.
- Identify improvement opportunities for EHS programs and develop actionable plans through the application of the principles Plan, Do, Check, and Act (PDCA) to drive program improvements.
- Provide or seek technical support, input, and coordination on environmental, health, and safety issues at the regional/country level.
- Define and maintain an EHS training matrix to ensure employees receive proper EHS training.
- Oversee third-party compliance systems such as Avetta and ISNet, ensuring accurate updating of policies, insurance requests, and training records.
- Manage the vetting and integration of EHS management systems, from system selection to company-wide rollout, including daily management, KPI buildout, system maintenance, and budgeting.
- Perform the duties of a project manager, supporting all environmental, health, and safety-related projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to drive improvement initiatives and ensure compliance across all locations.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in EHS compliance within a manufacturing environment or other industrial setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial engineering or related field of study preferred.
- Possess a detailed understanding of global and EHS legal requirements (i.e., Regulations, Codes, Standards, Directives, and Administrative Policies).
- Experience providing tactical and strategic regulatory leadership, with strong project management and compliance assurance abilities.
- Experience prioritizing and managing multiple, technically complex assignments concurrently.
- Organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and a strong problem-solver with a focus on results.
- Experience working effectively in teams and establishing cross-functional, positive working relationships.
- Effective communicator with the ability to send clear, concise, and consistent messages, as well as present proposed plans and results to management.
- Experience developing and implementing goals and strategies based on broader organizational objectives.
- Knowledge in workers’ compensation and OSHA recordability, including the ability to maintain OSHA logs, 300A, and postings.
- Experience managing EHS budgets and overseeing system implementation projects.
