AZURE PLATFORM ADMINISTRATOR - US FLEXIBLE
Purpose of Position

We are seeking a skilled Azure Platform Administrator to manage, optimize, and maintain our Microsoft Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our Azure platform while supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud administration, automation, security, and monitoring within a hybrid cloud environment.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Azure Administration: 
    • Manage and maintain Azure resources, including Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, and PaaS services.
  • Hybrid Cloud Management:
    • Support and optimize hybrid cloud environments.
    • Ensure seamless integration between on-premises and Azure-based infrastructure.
  • Identity & Access Management: 
    • Administer and secure Entra ID (Azure AD).
    • Enforce role-based access control (RBAC) 
    • Implement and support multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce security policies.
    • Monitor and mitigate threats.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST 800-171.
  • Automation & Scripting: 
    • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform to streamline administrative tasks.
    • Create and maintain documentation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: 
    • Implement and maintain Azure Monitor.
    • Use Azure Log Analytics, and other tools to proactively manage performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
    • Identify and implement additional tools to assist with monitoring and alerting in the Azure ecosystem
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: 
    • Configure and manage Azure Backup and Site Recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
    • Maintain documentation of RPOs and RTOs for all services.
    • Conduct and document regular testing to ensure that RPO and RTO targets can consistently be met.
  • Networking & Connectivity: 
    • Maintain Azure Virtual Networks (VNETs)
    • Implement and maintain VPNs, and hybrid network configurations.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: 
    • Diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.
    • Working closely with IT teams and vendors to quickly resolve issues that affect the business.
  • Patch Management & Updates: 
    • Ensure all Azure resources and on-premises hybrid integrations are regularly patched and updated.
    • Assist the team in identifying and implementing tools for automated patch management.
  • Documentation & Training: 
    • Maintain system documentation and provide training to internal teams on Azure best practices.

 

Education & Experience:

Required Expertise:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud administration or a similar role.
  • Certifications (Preferred): 
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) (preferred)
  • Desired Technical Skills:
    • Strong experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
    • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates).
    • Experience with Azure security, compliance, and governance best practices.
    • Knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and load balancing.
    • Strong PowerShell and scripting skills for automation.
    • Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Sentinel.
  • General Competencies:
    • Basic understanding of manufacturing and accounting principles.
    • Experience with helpdesk and ticketing systems is desirable.
    • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Experience with hybrid cloud solutions integrating Azure with on-premises systems.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to optimization.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including cross-functional collaboration.
    • Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to meet deadlines consistently.

Salary Range: $100,000.00 To $140,000.00 DOE
