2ND SHIFT FLOOR LEAD - JACKSONVILLE,FL
Purpose of Position

This position is primarily responsible for overseeing production prioritization across all teams, ensuring the implementation of corrective and preventive measures to uphold quality standards, and proactively managing and communicating any potential risks impacting the overall production timeline 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Support Production Supervisor: Assist the Production Supervisor and assume their responsibilities when they are absent or unavailable.
  • Collaborate on Production Scheduling: Work closely with Production Planning to adjust production schedules as necessary due to shifting priorities, changes in engineering design, labor or material shortages, backorders, or other relevant circumstances.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Engage with various departments daily to gather insights on upcoming priorities, ensuring timely initiation and completion of projects.
  • Oversee Team Execution: Ensure that Leads and Team Leads adhere to the production schedule and prioritize tasks in alignment with directives from the Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.
  • Enhance Production Efficiency: Monitor productivity and quality metrics to optimize production efficiency.
  • Resolve Production Challenges: Identify and resolve production issues promptly, collaborating with relevant departments such as Mechanical Floor Lead, Engineering, Project Management, Materials, or others as required.
  • Provide Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor Leads and Team Leads to ensure consistent delivery of quality work, conducting regular inspections to uphold standards.
  • Take Ownership of Quality Actions: Assume responsibility for corrective and preventive actions related to quality, engaging with all teams to address root causes effectively.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Perform Additional Duties: Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical Degree (BS) preferred or at least 2.5 years’ experience in associated manufacturing field.
  • At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience with production, engineering, warehouse and quality functions in a manufacturing/plant environment with emphasis on mechanical and electrical assembly.
