2ND SHIFT BUS ASSEMBLY LEAD - JACKSONVILLE,FL
Purpose of Position

This position is responsible primarily for daily execution of the production priorities, daily reporting of progress, and quality of the team’s production work in your area of responsibility while providing leadership, knowledge, and experience to Team Leads and team members. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Ensure teams are executing the production schedule and priorities as communicated by the Production Supervisor or Floor Lead.
  • Ensure teams are performing quality work and routinely inspect their team’s work to ensure a high level of first-time quality work.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications containing elements of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Complete assembly of mechanical components per drawing.
  • Proper installation of bus and phenolic support brackets with minimal errors.
  • Efficient at using torque wrenches and applying torque seal for all hardware as required.
  • Knowledge of procedures for workers to follow and ensuring they comply.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of problems, progress, and suggestions in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to established safety guidelines.
  • Independently inspect own work for in process defects to ensure error-free products.
  • Identify opportunities that provide cost effective alternative methods to process and materials.
  • Make Master Drawing requests from Engineering to support production schedule.
  • Make updates to Master Drawings required during manufacturing and notify engineering.
  • Perform other duties which may be required by the supervisor.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of experience with mechanical assembly.

Physical Demands:

Activities:          Sitting – 5%                    Walking/Standing – 95%

Lifting:               Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

Bending:           Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, and climb.

Vision:               Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.

Mental Demands:        Interpret, analyze, research, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environment:                Shop/warehouse.   Not climate controlled.  Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
