WIRING DESIGNER - FREMONT, CA
Purpose of Position

Create point-to-point wiring diagrams for use at our production facilities based on engineering schematic packages for electrical equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Use Autocad software to create point-to-point wiring diagrams on a specific custom order basis based on schematics generated by an electrical design engineer.  Note: Selecting of components and engineering circuit design is NOT the responsibility of the wiring designer.
  • Verify accuracy and make corrections to wiring diagrams created by other designers, and schematics created by electrical design engineers.
  • Confirm components on Bill of Material to ensure wiring blocks are accurate prior to implementing designs.
  • Working with other Wiring Designers and our CAD team, generate component symbol blocks that meet IEM standard so they can be added to the verified library of components.
  • Follow projects through production and wiring cycle, working with wiring technicians on the plant floor to address any issues and make corrections prior to QC check and order shipment.
  • Give priority to making corrections and supporting projects that have been released previously so as not to delay production or field service, whenever issues arise.
  • Coordinate with Design Engineers and Production Wiring Leads to ensure that design mistakes are captured and corrected on projects moving forward.
  • Utilize internal intranet systems to formally transmit completed wiring diagram drawings to production.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working at wiring of switchgear/switchboards or industrial control panels.
  • Working knowledge of Autocad drafting software is preferred; willingness to learn is a must.
  • Must have above average attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact directly with engineers, wiring technicians, other technical resources and management.
  • Good written and oral communications skills in English is required. Vietnamese language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks while accurately predicting timeframes and meeting project schedules.

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $100,000 DOE
