SAFETY ADMINISTRATOR - JACKSONVILLE, FL
Purpose of Position
The Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting the development of environmental, health and safety (EHS) policies and programs, counseling and instructing on various safety-related topics, conducting risk assessments and working with upper management to implement preventative measures.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares materials for safety committee meetings.
- Performs and manages safety inspection calendar for the safety committee members.
- Routinely walk production floor to identify and address safety risks.
- Works with production to prepare materials for toolbox talks.
- Works with Human Resources to develop and implements EHS strategies, policies and services to increase employee safety and reduce organization risks.
- Coordinates all required safety training for employees, vendors and other visitors.
- Identify hazardous waste and work with facilities maintenance for proper handling and disposal.
- Promote safety initiatives and maintains compliance with all safety regulations.
- Works with Facility Maintenance to ensure facility equipment is installed and maintained in a safe manner.
- Investigates injuries to identify root cause, generate reports and suggest corrective action.
- Performs job hazard analysis.
- Maintains all PPE records.
- Perform other related duties which may be required by supervisor.
Education and Experience:
- 4-6 Years in Safety Management.
- OSHA Safety Training Certification Preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Time Management.
- Organization Skills Including Attention to Detail and Multitasking.
- Thoroughness.
- A Proactive, Assertive, Sense of Urgency to Problem Solving.
- Working Knowledge of OSHA and other Regulatory Agencies.
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills.

Environment: Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
