PRODUCTION CONTROL SUPERVISOR - JACKSONVILLE, FL
Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the planning and managing of production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as serving as liaison between the Commercial Services Department and Production.

Essential Functions:

  • Review new customer orders and establishes shipping schedules compatible with customer requirements and production capabilities.
  • Commit to a delivery schedule and ensures on time delivery is met.
  • Analyze sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  • Receive and review sales orders against current requirements and work in process.
  • Interface with production management to determine necessary action to meet customer requirements and with sales personnel to negotiate compromises when necessary.
  • Obtain commitments on completion dates for processes and any other requirements needed to complete and ship orders as scheduled.
  • Monitor performance to commitments and initiates department lead time required for procurement of materials and engineering to avoid costly delay, customer dissatisfaction and complaints.
  • Establish lead times based on capacity levels.
  • Oversee the scheduling of products through all work centers.
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling with the production floor on order release dates and timing of assembly and shipping.
  • Revise and reschedule orders to compensate for expedited orders, material shortages, and customer cancellations or suppliers failure to deliver on time.
  • Prepare daily line efficiency reports for the Production Department and tracks the status of production daily.
  • Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Materials Management or Business Administration from a four year college or university.
  • Combination of 10 to 15 years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Production Control in a technical or manufacturing environment.

              Vision:               Long periods of close work on computer screen and ability to see small or detailed items.

Mental Demands:         Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environment:                Climate controlled office space and exposure to outdoor conditions such as excessive cold, excessive heat, noise/vibration and dust.
