FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER (TARGET DATA CENTER MARKETS) -
Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for directly commissioning, troubleshooting and performing maintenance on IEM as well as non-IEM products. This position is based out of a location where IEM does not have a service office or production facility and requires a level of experience and independence working at customer sites performing field service on power products.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide product/field service expertise, with the ability to service and support complex power and control systems.
  • Travel to customer sites to complete commissioning activities independently, or to lead a team when additional resources are required to meet a timeline.
  • As required, travel to manufacturing or field service offices of IEM to participate in or lead training exercises, or to participate in factory witness/shop testing.
  • Attend site meetings and walk-throughs.
  • Identifies project areas of risk that may adversely affect success of the project or that may pose safety risks for themselves or other technicians working onsite.
  • Assists with project start-up and resolving punch list items found at the job.  Works with IEM Project Managers to update punch lists and ensure jobs are closed out.
  • Reports back issues to manufacturing facilities regarding whether quality control standards are upheld to project design criteria and product specifications.  Works with production and engineering teams to help resolve any deficiencies that are found.
  • Work with the Field Service Lead in scheduling additional field resources and/or teams to cover service needs.
  • For individual projects and when directed by Field Service Management, serve a lead role for an individual site or client.  This may include supervising, mentoring, and guiding junior engineers or techs through commissioning on large projects.
  • Punch in and Punch out of timekeeping system daily and per company protocol.  Complete field service reports and expense reports promptly.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

Supervision of Personnel:

  • Only when leading a site that requires additional commissioning resources, directing work of junior techs or manufacturing team members.

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years related industry experience
  • Understanding of hazards associated with commissioning LV/MV equipment; Must have safety conscious approach and work habits
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and customer presence is a must.
  • Up to 70% travel is required; deployments further than 100 miles from base location not to exceed 2 weeks

Salary Range:

Portland - $ 41.50-$60.50/hour (DOE)

Phoenix - $39.50-$57.00/hour (DOE)

Dallas TX - $39.50-$57.50/hour (DOE)

Chicago - $ 42.00-$61.00/hour (DOE)

Sat Lake City - $44.00-$61.50/hour (DOE)

Las Vegas -$40.50-$59.00/hour (DOE)

Seattle - $44.00-$64.00/hour (DOE)

Atlanta - $39.00-57.00/hour (DOE)

Houston - $44.50-57.50/hour (DOE)

Denver - $40.50-59.00/hour (DOE)
