ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER - PORTLAND, OR
Purpose of Position

Responsible for leading and tracking IEM engineering dept’s continuous improvement initiatives. Provides strategic insight and support to IEM engineering leadership (VP, Director, and Management Level). 

Essential Functions:

  • Gather high level department and individual goals from Engineering leadership. Assist with development of road map. Build and maintain tools and Gantt charts to track initiatives and deliverables to support these goals.
  • Identify gaps in process or reporting systems for Engineering’s Key Process Indicators. Works with IT and stakeholders from all departments within IEM to fill gaps and resolve issues.
  • Manage electronic filing systems, record information, update paperwork, and maintain documents.
  • Facilitate ongoing meetings related to objectives; Take detailed notes, create and follow up on action plans related to engineering and company objectives. Identify important milestones and blockers.
  • Assist Engineering Leadership to gather and present information to other organizational leaders to support company-wide initiatives; analyze impacts to engineering workload, implications to quality, etc. of proposed workflow changes.
  • Work with department managers to outline, document, and to communicate needs from engineers related to product design and manufacturing.
  • Gather and encourage input from team members that lead to day-to-day time savings and process improvements.
  • Document and track engineering tool buildout initiates
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or business administration
  • Experienced with lean principles
  • Ability to work and problem-solve with people from diverse backgrounds and training environments.
  • Keen eye for improvement opportunities and an ability to facilitate change
  • Minimum 5 years in a project management or similar role
  • Demonstrated success with managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to assess a situation and independently define steps towards a solution
  • Expert knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource and coordination of people and resources.

Salary Range:

$80,000 - $120,000 annually
